Security components for PC cards and data pages
Despite the relatively secure laser personalisation of PC cards or data pages, these still need to be counterfeit-proof and their personal data can benefit from protection against fraudulent alteration attempts. We supply three types of security elements for PC cards and data pages: embeddable hot-stamping inlays and foils, embeddable tapes and full-face Integrated Surface Elements (ISE).
PC-based holographic VISION™ PC-based inlays and embeddable foils can be hot-stamped to the reverse of the top layer of a PC card or data page (or the top of the second layer) prior to card assembly and provide a localised security feature, often in the photo area. Both solutions guarantee effective visual authentication while being compatible with laser engraving.
FIREBIRD™ is a PC-based demetallised embeddable tape, providing an excellent solution for protecting the reverse of the card or data page. Its mechanical and chemical durability is superior to PET-based security threads.
An ISE is PC film, securitised with either an HRI (high refractive index) or HPMD-demetallised Synthegram®, applied as the top layer of the card or page during the standard PC lamination process and providing security images all over the document.
